Celestial Connection

Millions of worlds apart

and thousands of words

are missing

between the space

we created for ourselves.

We stop conversations,

mute or misuse them,

while the big ice rocks fall apart,

like our lives when we refuse

to listen to ourselves.

This world is scary,

full of angry people,

but Earth remembers

and promises to color

our dreams and hopes

with gold dust extracted

from the deep, dark, daunting

place we call space.

And right into that moment

we glow furiously;

full of celestial body magic,

we dive back into the blues

and the greens of our reality,

the worlds we build

and the ones we destroy,

conquering one more day

from the eons that await us.

The Trilingual Poem

Blocked_

out of fear of comparison

the moment language transforms

into literal particles of the self.

Unblocked_

out of love for creation

the moment language is transformed

into the words of the life of tomorrow.

Patterns_

of lexical chunks

growing out of me.                                                                                         {English}

Signs_

of forgetfulness

glowing inside me.                                                                                         {Greek}

Symbols_

of identity

slipping out of my breath.                                                                              {Dutch}

[or else, the perks of being trilingual]

At The Village, Kipos, GR 2017

Prionia, at the foothills of mountain Olympos. Greece. July 2017. Minolta dynax 7000i, Kodak Gold, ISO 200, 35mm film.

At Prionia, you can find a restaurant, maps and directions to climb the mountain. It is also the spot that cars don’t go any further. You will find the beginning of a wonderful path that leads to Litohoro village or you can climb towards the mountain itself. Alternatively, you can ride a donkey as seen in the photographs!

St. Thomas, Xenia, Kozani, GR 2017

Xenia is one of the northest parts of my hometown, where a famous hotel used to be, “XENIA”, that gave its name to the area. Now, you will find many new houses that have been built, but also a small – but beautiful – forest there too. Following that path through the forest, you soon find yourself in front of Saint Thomas, a church I used to visit often in my childhood. School trips, festivals, weddings and baptisms, it was all happening here. So it was nice, and quite weird, to visit this place after so many years.
